Entry Requirements
Applicants should be between 18-25 years old (No later than Dec. 31 of that year, Dec. 31included), high school graduate or above, non-Chinese citizen, and in good health.
The No.12 Document of 2020 issued by the Ministry of Education, PRC is administered by the University. Two important items of the Document are to note. First, according to Article 5 of Nationality Law of The People's Republic of China, a person whose parents are both Chinese nationals and have both settled abroad, or one of whose parents is a Chinese national and has settled abroad, and who has acquired foreign nationality at birth shall not have Chinese nationality. Since 2021, those applying to study at universities or junior colleges as international students, should satisfy the following additional requirements: the applicants must hold valid foreign passport or other relevant international recognized documents for at least 4 years; meanwhile, in the latest 4 years (by each April 30th of the year of University registration), the applicants must live overseas for 2 years (Living overseas for 9 months can be converted to 1 year, which is subject to the exit-entry stamp on visa.). Second, those who immigrated to other countries from the Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao or Taiwan and apply to study as international students at universities or junior colleges of China are required to satisfy the requirement of the first item.
Copy of New HSK Certificate
For the programs on Science and engineering: New HSK Band 4 certificate with total score no less than 180.
For the programs on Architecture, Management & Economics and Medicine: New HSK Band 4 certificate with total score no less than 200.
For the programs on Liberal Arts and Fine Arts: New HSK Band 5 certificate with total score no less than 180.
(If the applicant's master program is taught in Chinese, the applicant is not required to provide HSK certificate but has to hand in the certificate for Chinese-taught degree program.)
Requirement for applicants of Bachelor of Arts in Chinese Language:
Freshmen: copy of New HSK Band 4 certificate with total score no less than 180;
Those who apply for bachelor program of Chinese language with New HSK Band 4 (total score over 210) and one-year Chinese study experience, can start from Grade 2 (Only limited to the Chinese language training program in colleges and universities or having the undergraduate study experience taught in Chinese); and those with New HSK Band 5 (total score over 210) and two-year Chinese study experience can start from Grade 3 (Only limited to the Chinese language training program in colleges and universities or having the undergraduate study experience taught in Chinese).
